Adopted Resolutions 2017

Resolution 17-22Urging the State of Hawaii to address the homeless encampment under the H-1 Freeway in Kahala.

Resolution 17-26 – Urging the expeditious replacement of six shower trees removed from the Halemaumau Street area in Niu Valley.

Resolution 17-37 – Requesting the Department of Parks and Recreation to expeditiously update its administrative rules governing the use of public parks and the facilities therein.

Resolution 17-47 – Urging the Director of DPR to provide adequate staffing for the Maunalani Community Park so that all facilities therein, including the recreation center, are consistently and readily open for use by the public.

Resolution 17-54 – Urging the State of Hawaii to enforce state park rules and facilitate permanent solutions regarding the encampment at the Diamond Head Sate Monument.

Resolution 17-62, CD1 – Urging the Mayor to hold an event celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the dedication of Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve as a marine life conservation district.

Resolution 17-145, CD1 – Relating to requesting the City and State officials to work collaboratively to establish a homeless task force with the goal of improving and better coordinating enforcement activities relating to unlawful encampments.

Resolution 17-189 – Urging the Hawaii Board of Land and Natural Resources to adopt rules prohibiting alcohol use and disorderly behavior at Waikiki “Floatilla” events.

Resolution 17-198 – Urging the Director of Planning and Permitting to increase enforcement and propose any modifications to the Department’s administrative rules or legislation the Director deems necessary to address the problem of the illegal use of large residential structures in residential zoning districts.

Resolution 17-199, CD1 – Requesting the Board of the Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation (“HART”) to conduct an economy and efficiency audit to determine the causes for the cost overruns for the Honolulu High-Capacity Transit Corridor project.

Resolution 17-229 – Resolution renaming the Waikiki Shell in honor of Tom Moffat.

Resolution 17-246 – RESOLUTION (FOR CONDEMNATION) PROVIDING FOR THE ACQUISITION OF AN EASEMENT FOR PUBLIC USE TO WIT: PORTLOCK ROAD BEACH ACCESS EASEMENT SITUATE AT MAUNALUA, HONOLULU, OAHU, HAWAII AND DETERMINING AND DECLARING THE NECESSITY OF THE ACQUISITION THEREOF BY EMINENT DOMAIN

Resolution 17-257 – Urging the Hawaii State Department of Transportation to address the increasing westbound traffic congestion on the H-1 Freeway from Ainakoa Avenue to the Vineyard Exit.

Resolution 17-263, CD1 – Urging the City Administration and the Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation to utilize public private partnerships to fund improvements, including transit stations, related to the Honolulu High-Capacity Transit Corridor project and to create economic development opportunities along the transit route.

Resolution 17-276, CD1 – Proposing and amendment to Chapter 21, Revised Ordinances of Honolulu 1990 (The Land Use Ordinance), relating to detached dwellings.

Resolution 17-340, CD1 – Urging the City Administration to develop composting facilities capable of processing certain solid waste that is currently disposed of at the city’s H-Power facilities, including single-used disposable food service containers.

Resolutions 2017

Resolution 17-210 – Urging the Director of Budget & Fiscal Services to establish the same procedures for the disbursement of moneys to the Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation as those followed by the Federal Transit Administration concerning the drawdown reimbursement process.

Resolution 17-256 – Urging the City Administration and the Honolulu Authority for Rapid Transportation (‘HART’) to explore avenues to engage the private sector in the funding of improvements, including transit stations, related to the Honolulu Rail Project.
